The Sexuality Connect project (follow the project activities here) successfully hosted a series of interactive online co-creation sessions throughout June 2026. These sessions brought together youth workers, educators, and stakeholders to exchange perspectives, share experiences, and collaboratively shape educational resources focused on sexuality education in the digital age. The sessions are organized after a long path of training organized by the project from December 2025 to June 2026 visible here (Sexuality Connect Youtube Channel)
The journey began on June 8th with a session dedicated to the foundations of inclusive sex education. Participants explored key principles of inclusivity, reflecting on how educational approaches can better respond to the diverse realities and needs of young people.
On June 9th, discussions focused on healthy relationships, consent, and gender justice. This session created space for meaningful dialogue around respect, communication, and equality, while addressing the challenges young people face in navigating relationships today.
The third session, held on June 10th, addressed the digital sexual landscape. Participants examined the opportunities and risks of online environments, discussing how digital spaces influence identity, relationships, and access to information.
Building on these reflections, the session on June 16th focused on digital safety and ethical online behaviour. Participants explored topics such as digital citizenship, privacy, and responsible online engagement, emphasizing the importance of creating safer and more respectful digital environments.
The final session, on June 18th, was dedicated to co-design and multiplier strategies. Participants worked collaboratively to transform insights from previous sessions into concrete ideas, exploring how to share knowledge, engage communities, and amplify the impact of sexuality education beyond the project itself.
Throughout the series, the co-creation approach played a central role. Rather than a traditional top-down format, these sessions encouraged active participation, critical thinking, and mutual learning. Participants contributed their expertise and perspectives not only to the development of the course content, but also to the improvement of the HOP online learning platform itself, by sharing feedback, ideas, and suggestions based on their user experience.
This process ensured that the platform evolves in a way that is more intuitive, relevant, and adapted to the real needs of its users, strengthening both the learning experience and the overall impact of the project.
These sessions not only strengthened collaboration between partners and participants but also highlighted the importance of dialogue, inclusivity, and shared responsibility in addressing topics related to sexuality education in today’s digital world.
