GENDER EQUALITY PLAN

The European Commission remains committed to promoting gender equality in research and innovation through its new Gender Equality Strategy 2026–2030, adopted on 5 March 2026. This renewed strategy builds on the previous framework and reinforces actions to achieve a gender-equal Europe by addressing structural inequalities, promoting equal opportunities, and strengthening gender mainstreaming across all sectors.

The Gender Equality Plan is a document that formalises the association’s gender strategy into measurable objectives and actions. For the period 2024-2026, we are pursuing four main objectives:

  • Promoting a gender equality culture among the association’s partners, incoming trainees and network organizations;
  • Promoting a gender-sensitive approach in the development of gender sensitive project’s design;
  • Promoting a gender sensitive approach in the recruitment and career development of the association’s trainees;
  • Promoting integration of work with family and personal life.

The new EU Gender Equality Strategy 2026–2030 also highlights key priorities such as preventing gender-based violence, improving women’s health and well-being, supporting equal participation in leadership and decision-making, ensuring gender-sensitive funding and innovation policies, and engaging men and boys as active partners in achieving equality.

To reach these objectives, we have planned a set of actions and dedicated resources. The plan represents the first step of a long-term strategy for the incoming years. We will periodically review our policy as we reach the objectives mentioned above.
