KEHSIA ASBL was pleased to showcase our Sexuality Connect project at this year’s Festival de l’Amitié in Hesperange, where we had the opportunity to engage with families and community members about the importance of inclusive and accessible sexuality education.
During the event, we presented the main goals of the project and shared that the educational classes we have been delivering over the past several months are now available on YouTube, making them freely accessible for everyone to watch and benefit from. We also had meaningful conversations with parents and community members about what they would like sexuality education to look like for future generations and how it can best support young people. In addition, we introduced the Salto platform, where participants can explore the project’s educational resources and become more familiar with the topics addressed through Sexuality Connect.
To make the day enjoyable for visitors of all ages, we organised a variety of creative games and interactive activities for children, creating a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere at our stand. These activities encouraged participation while helping to promote the values of inclusion, respect, equality, and open dialogue in an engaging and accessible way.
Throughout the day, our team also had the opportunity to connect with youth workers, educators, representatives of local organisations, and many curious visitors interested in learning more about the project. These conversations highlighted the growing need for reliable educational resources and safe spaces where topics related to relationships, consent, digital safety, and sexuality can be discussed openly and respectfully.
The festival was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the local community, exchange ideas, and meet the many ASBLs and cultural associations that help make Luxembourg such a diverse and vibrant place. Events like the Festival de l’Amitié remind us how important community engagement is in promoting awareness, encouraging dialogue, and building more inclusive environments for everyone.
We sincerely thank everyone who stopped by our stand, participated in our activities, shared their perspectives, and contributed to the inspiring discussions throughout the day. We look forward to continuing this journey through the Sexuality Connect project, empowering youth workers, supporting young people, and fostering more informed, inclusive, and respectful communities across Europe.
