OBJECTIVES AND STRUCTURE OF THE WORKSHOPS DURING THE RE.W.I.N.D. WOMEN MOBILITY IN VITERBO

From 16 to 23 November 2025, the city of Viterbo hosted the first international mobility of the RE.W.I.N.D. WOMEN project, a learning and intercultural experience that brought together young people from Greece, Italy, Luxembourg and Portugal. The mobility focused on exploring gender roles and stereotypes through dialogue, experiential learning and creative methodologies.

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOPS

The workshops were carefully designed with clear and interconnected objectives, aiming to support participants in a meaningful learning journey focused on gender awareness and personal development.

  1. Raising awareness and challenging gender stereotypes: Through structured activities, participants explored how stereotypes and unconscious biases influence individual behaviour and social dynamics, analysing real-life examples and sharing personal experiences.

2. Promoting empathy and critical thinking: Each workshop encouraged open dialogue and group discussion, helping participants develop empathy and critically reflect on their own beliefs and assumptions related to gender roles and expectations.

3. Developing creative communication tools: Several activities focused on the use of art, storytelling and visual expression (such as posters and creative narratives) as tools to reinterpret and communicate complex social topics in an accessible and impactful way.

4. Encouraging intercultural cooperation: Working in multicultural groups allowed participants to compare different cultural perspectives, enriching the learning process and highlighting both differences and shared challenges across countries.

STRUCTURE AND METHODOLOGY OF THE WORKSHOPS

The workshops followed a participatory and experiential structure, combining theory, practice and reflection. The core educational principle was learning by doing, ensuring active involvement of all participants.

👉🏻 Each session started with a brief theoretical introduction, presenting the topic of the day and key concepts such as gender stereotypes, bias and social roles, supported by concrete examples.

👉🏻 Participants were divided into heterogeneous groups to encourage intercultural exchange. These sessions allowed them to discuss scenarios, analyse social dynamics and confront different viewpoints in a safe and inclusive space.

👉🏻 One of the most impactful methodologies used during the mobility was EDU-LARP (Educational Live Action Role Play). Through immersive role-playing scenarios, participants experienced social dynamics from new perspectives, enabling deeper emotional and cognitive engagement with the topics addressed.

👉🏻 Following discussions and role-play sessions, participants translated their reflections into creative outputs such as posters, drawings and visual stories. These activities helped consolidate learning outcomes and made abstract concepts more tangible.

👉🏻 Each workshop concluded with a plenary reflection session, during which groups shared their work and insights, received feedback and collectively reflected on the learning process.

LEARNING OUTCOMES AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

The workshops functioned as dynamic spaces for collective learning, rather than traditional classroom lessons. As a result, participants were able to:

  • increase personal awareness of gender-related issues
  • improve communication, listening and teamwork skills
  • use creative tools to express complex ideas
  • recognise and reflect on personal biases
  • strengthen intercultural understanding and cooperation
