My internship at Kehsia: personal and professional change-maker

As a French European law student from Lille, I did an internship based on a wish to dive into European projects, to develop an experience outside France, and to work somewhere embodying my values.

A new complementary approach

My internship boosted my creativity, developed my communication and expression skills, and increased my knowledge of the European Union.

I made videos, wrote articles, got used to social media, created presentations and flyers, talked in public, promoted European projects, facilitated and co-built activities, created an interactive platform, promoted European values, participated in an Erasmus project, and assisted to conferences.

During my internship, I learned a lot about European projects and communication. As a law student, specialised in European and international laws, I know the basics regarding the fundamental texts to understand how the institutions are working, the historical point of view, and the material law of the European Union. Most of the time, we, law students, are lacking experience and concrete application of those texts. Thanks to my internship at Kehsia, I discovered another side of European actions, a complementary approach to my studies, the missing piece.

A growing experience

I grow personally and professionally. I had the opportunity to discover and explore new topics such as financial literacy and youth participatory budget. I also discovered places that I would not, such as the Frauen and gender library. I attended conferences that I would not have known about on nature and feminist Artificial Intelligence. I met so many new people through the different projects. I also took part in activities organised by other organisations part of our co-working space.

During this experience, I developed a stronger wish to take part in projects, to know more about feminism and its extent, and how necessary it is these days. How important to embody and fight for our values. The fights are never over.

An unwanted end

Two months ago, I would not have believed that two months would be that fast and that I would love to stay longer. I made friends, got familiar with the city, enjoyed my daily tasks, and developed a sense of belonging.
