The RE.W.I.N.D. project continues to make significant progress as its international consortium works collaboratively on the development of one of the project’s most innovative educational tools: the Edu-LARP (Educational Live Action Role Playing). Designed as an immersive and participatory learning experience, the Edu-LARP aims to engage young people in a meaningful reflection on gender stereotypes, their origins, and their impact on everyday life and society.
At this stage of the project, partners are actively involved in the co-creation of the LARP scenario, combining their diverse expertise to build an engaging narrative that encourages critical thinking, empathy, and dialogue. Through a series of collaborative workshops, brainstorming sessions, and international meetings, the consortium is identifying the most common stereotypes affecting women’s representation in different social contexts, including education, work, leadership, media, family life, and public participation.

These discussions are laying the foundation for the game’s storyline, characters, and conflicts. Each narrative element is carefully designed to mirror real-life situations and social dynamics, allowing participants to explore complex issues through role-play. By stepping into different perspectives and interacting with other players, participants will be encouraged to challenge preconceived ideas, recognize unconscious biases, and better understand how stereotypes influence opportunities, relationships, and decision-making processes.
The Edu-LARP methodology represents a powerful non-formal education approach that combines experiential learning with storytelling and active participation. Rather than simply discussing gender equality in a theoretical way, the experience enables participants to “live” situations that stimulate emotional engagement and critical reflection. This immersive format promotes not only greater awareness of gender-related issues but also the development of soft skills such as communication, cooperation, empathy, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.

As development continues, the consortium will further refine the LARP scenario by testing narrative elements, improving game mechanics, and ensuring that the educational objectives remain at the heart of the experience. The upcoming phases of the project will also include artistic workshops, creative activities, and pilot testing sessions, all aimed at validating the methodology before its wider implementation.
In the coming months, the RE.W.I.N.D. partnership will organize public Edu-LARP events involving young people, educators, youth workers, and members of the local communities. These events will provide participants with the opportunity to experience the educational game firsthand while fostering intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, and greater awareness of gender equality across Europe.
The RE.W.I.N.D. project is coordinated by Associazione L’ISOLA CHE C’E’, based in Rome, Italy, and is implemented by a consortium of five experienced organisations: KEHSIA asbl (Luxembourg), PYLON ONE (Greece), DCTR – Associação Cultural (Portugal), and Skill Hub (Italy). Together, the partners bring complementary expertise in educational Live Action Role Playing (LARP), artistic communication, citizen science, youth empowerment, cultural activism, and non-formal education. Their shared commitment ensures the development of innovative tools that promote inclusion, critical thinking, and active citizenship among young people across Europe.
